ESVA Website Requests
How clubs can get information onto the ESVA website.
Here are some things clubs can do to use the ESVA website and make it better:
- Correct ESVA website URL
Please make sure all publications, brochures, business cards and club websites point to www.esva.org, which forwards to the correct hosted website, and always will, whereever we host the site. - Featured Events.
The committee tries to feature every event that has been sanctioned. The committee has not set any criteria as yet. If you have an event you would like featured on this website, send the particulars AND A PICTURE of scenery or other significant photo, along with a great, compelling description (not the NW Pathfinder one, please) to nwittenberg@q.com. The picture should be small in size -- 100kb or smaller, if possible, but we can shrink to fit. Please attach the picture separately. Do Not embed it in the description. You can send an electronic copy of your brochure if you wish, but make that event description shine! - Articles about walks, walking trips, and volkssporters
This page functions much like a Blog. The website committee will post all appropriate articles as soon as possible. Send your articles either just in an email (preferred) or a Word document to nwittenberg@q.com. Readers may comment on articles and their comments will show up immediately. A photo or two would be great. Attach it separately to the email. Do not embed it in the article. Make it "web sized" -- 100kb or so to speed up page loading, if possible. We can resize it, but it adds time. Let's get your own stamp on this website, and make it interesting for all of us. - Pictures of walkers in Washington State for page banners
It need not be "hordes" of walkers. Some good, high-def (1mb) pictures of single or small groups of walkers would be appreciated. Remember, for banners, photos need to be able to be blown up and cropped to our banner size, so detail needs to be sharp. Send pictures to nwittenberg@q.com. -
Club Friendship & Group Walks
If you'd like us to link to your schedule of friendship or group walks posted on your website, please send the link to nwittenberg@q.com. These can be either mid-week walks or weekend and can be the club calendar if walks are included. We'll post the links on the Events page. -
Club contact information
The ESVA website is a great way for potential walkers to find you! Please keep your club contact information up-to-date, including website URLs and email addresses, by keeping the ESVA and AVA information up-to-date. The AVA's can be done online or by sending in the appropriate AVA form. For the ESVA, use the ESVA Club Contacts & Officer Update Form when information changes. This is sent to the ESVA Secretary who will forward information to the website committee. -
Your ideas and suggestions
The website committee wants the ESVA website to be clear and easy to use. Our goal is to serve both those new to volkssports and clubs and club members. Please submit all comments and suggestions to nwittenberg@q.com. Or, use the More Information Form.
